Easter weekend. The biggest event in the Christian calendar. One of the two most attended services by guests. Yet people always seem to miss the point. What's the point of going to a place where songs are sung, prayers are proclaimed, words are warranted, all in the name of one man that went on a tree of two sticks crossed and died for sin and death.
What's even sin? Was that really 2000 years ago? Is the Easter bunny real?
The truth is Easter is not about chocolate wrapped beautiful animals, or even getting together with family. What it is about, is what you see in the picture above. That was the part in our church service called "The Shout". That was when the whole congregation, shouted, jumped, danced all for joy at that fact that "HE IS RISEN". Without a person coming back to life, death is ironically the most powerful thing in this life. But because one perfect and spotless man, Jesus Christ, took death like no other person could, defeated it and rose again in victory, every person who accepts Christ as their Saviour and Master and lives a life for Him, can live forevermore in communion with Him, Our Creator.
All because of the Cross.
