Develop a logo that remains consistent with the rest of the company's branding while simultaneously updating the branding of the company.
We first started off with the inspiration of the tree. The core and foundation of what the company represents with the tree is adventure and the exploration lifestyle. Next we took that inspiration and blended it with the other aspects of the northern concept with a compass and the "N" from "Northward". We really to heart the companies motto, "Inspired by the northern lifestyle and those who are brave enough to claim it. Finding the balance between adventure and rest." So we worked with that concept to incorporate adventure and a northward "look". The adventure aspect of the north point mixed with the sustainability of the tree, keep the qualities of the brand at its core.
We solved the challenge by providing a clean, modern, and timeless logo. One that can be easily remembered, and one that can be easily recognized. By hitting all the ticks from the branding standpoint, we were able to come up with a wonderful result that both pleased the client and proved "brave enough, and bold to claim the outcome of the lifestyle."
Using the packaging technology presented and the dieline supplied, develop a creative promotional solution incorporating mandatory and optional elements. Tempo Plastics has teamed up with PAC Next, an organization whose vision is to create “A World Without Packaging Waste. Together, along with some industry sponsors, we have developed “Project Teal”. Project Teal’s aim is to implement a program within select municipalities as a test pilot, to demonstrate how non-recycled plastic items, like multi-layer laminated bags and pouches, can be collected and converted into an energy resource and kept from landfills. A similar successful pilot program was launched in California called the Purple Energy Bag.
Initially the approach we took was to create a well-designed, aesthetic bag, that had all the mandatory material needed to be on the bag, in order to grab the attention of the recipient of the bag. In turn, it would encourage the use of the bag and further promote the initiative first set out by Tempo Plastics. The preliminary drafts were turned away because of the focus that was not on easy usability or understanding the concept behind the bags. There was too much of an emphasis on logo design and aesthetics, not enough simplicity and user-friendliness. So we went back to the drawing board, and redefined what reallyneeded to be explained, to the most basic of terms in order for anyone to understand what this project was for.
The result was one of much cleaner and simpler design. The green colour used was a simple reminder of exactly that; greenery, and life, rebirth, refresh and renewal, for a better future.
*I am pleased to say that as a result of this design in the competition, I was awarded with 2nd place which was a pleasant surprise to receive recognition.
Develop an app user experience that will help the user have easy access to natural sounds that will help them sleep with at night. If experiencing abnormal sleep abberations, the app will help guide the user to a sound that will aid their sleep habits.
We determined that the focus of the development should be on how easy the sounds were to understand, and that depending on what the user was accustomed to sleeping that it was easy to get to the choices. Furthermore, another important aspect was the user experience, from the time it took to open the app, to the time it took to start playing the sound. As well as all that, it was important for the settings page to be easy to navigate through for any user.
We came up wth a friendly and immersive user experience from start to sleep. The deep tones provide a calming experience and helps the user get into sleeping state.
